Correctional Healthcare Services
Health services delivered inside partner correctional facilities under contract with government and corrections agencies.
Service lines
Medical & Primary Care
Intake health screening, sick call, acute care, infirmary and chronic care follow-up are provided on site by clinical staff assigned to the facility. Care that cannot be delivered on site is coordinated with off-site providers and hospitals through the facility's referral process.
Dental Care
Dental services include intake screening, examinations, radiographs where available, restorative treatment, extractions and management of dental pain and infection, delivered in facility dental operatories by licensed dentists and dental assistants.
Mental & Behavioral Health
Behavioral health programs cover intake mental health screening, psychiatric evaluation, medication management, individual and group counseling, suicide-prevention and crisis-response protocols, and coordination with facility staff on housing and observation decisions.
Substance Use Disorder Treatment
Services include screening at intake, clinically monitored withdrawal management, treatment for opioid and alcohol use disorders where the contract and facility protocols provide for it, counseling, and discharge planning with community providers.
Pharmacy Services (PharmaCorr)
PharmaCorr is the company's in-house correctional pharmacy operation. It supports formulary management, dispensing and delivery of medications to partner facilities, medication administration records, and pharmacist review of prescribing within correctional settings.
Optometry
Optometry services include vision screening at intake, comprehensive eye examinations, diagnosis and monitoring of eye conditions, and provision of corrective lenses, with referral to off-site ophthalmology when clinically indicated.
Chronic Disease Management
Patients identified with conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, asthma, seizure disorders, HIV and hepatitis are enrolled in chronic care clinics with scheduled reviews, laboratory monitoring, medication adjustment and documentation against clinical guidelines.
Telehealth Services
Telehealth links patients in the facility with physicians, psychiatrists and other specialists remotely. It is used to reduce off-site transports, shorten waiting times for specialty consultation, and support facilities in areas where on-site specialist coverage is limited.
Accreditation & quality
The National Commission on Correctional Health Care (NCCHC) publishes standards for health services in jails, prisons and juvenile facilities and operates a voluntary accreditation program for correctional facilities.
Corizon Health supports partner facilities that pursue or maintain NCCHC accreditation through program policies, clinical documentation, staff training records and internal quality review processes aligned to those standards.
Specific accreditation status is determined by NCCHC for each individual facility, not by the contracted healthcare provider.
